🇬🇧 GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE – VOLTRIDE

These terms apply to all city and electric bike rental services offered by VOLTRIDE, owned by Antony Félicien Bras, headquartered at Avenida Doctor Mariano Ruiz Cánovas 8, Spain, registered under NIE: Z0320770V.

Any booking or rental implies full acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions (GTC).

1. PURPOSE

These terms define the rights and obligations of VOLTRIDE and the client in the context of city and electric bike rentals, with or without additional options, for a fixed duration.
They apply to all reservations made online, by phone, or directly at the agency.

2. Rental Conditions

2.1 Age and Identification

The renter must be at least 18 years old and present a valid ID or passport.
Minors may only rent a bike under the responsibility and supervision of an adult.

2.2 Rental Duration

Rentals are available by the day or for several consecutive days depending on availability.
Any day started is considered fully due.

2.3 Security Deposit

A security deposit is required upon collection of the bike.
It must be made via credit card pre-authorization only and will be released within a maximum of 7 working days after full technical inspection.
If theft insurance is purchased (optional), the deposit amount is reduced by 50%.

3. Prices and Payment

All prices are in euros (€), including VAT.
The price includes the bike, helmet, and lock.
Accessories such as bags or child seats may be available as optional extras.

Accepted payment methods:

• Credit card,

• Cash,

• Online booking payment.

No discounts or partial refunds can be applied after payment confirmation.

4. Cancellations and Modifications

• Up to 48 hours before the rental start time: full refund or rescheduling possible.

• Less than 48 hours before: no refund will be issued.

• In case of extreme weather conditions (strong wind, heavy rain, storm), VOLTRIDE may offer a reschedule or a 6-month valid credit voucher.

Any modification is subject to availability.

5. Usage, Safety, and Geolocation

The renter agrees to:

• Use the bike responsibly and in accordance with traffic laws,

• Not transport passengers unless the bike is designed for it,

• Not lend, sublet, or transfer the bike to another person,

• Use the bike only on paved roads or bike paths,

• Not alter or tamper with the electrical system or GPS tracker,

• Protect the bike from rain, seawater, and impacts,

• Avoid off-road, beach, or water riding,

• Not carry heavy or dangerous items,

• Respect the legal speed and power limits (25 km/h max for e-bikes).

Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended and mandatory for riders under 16 as per Spanish law.

5.1 GPS Tracking

All VOLTRIDE electric bikes are equipped with integrated GPS tracking devices for:

• Safety,

• Anti-theft monitoring,

• Maintenance and performance tracking.

By accepting these terms, the client expressly authorizes VOLTRIDE to use location data in case of abnormal use, non-return, theft, or safety concerns.

Any attempt to disable, hide, or damage the GPS tracker will be treated as attempted theft, resulting in:

• Immediate termination of the contract,

• Full billing of the replacement value of the bike,

• and a police report for theft of rental property.

6. Parking and Storage

Bikes must be stored in a closed, private, and secure location (garage, indoor space, or private residence).
It is strictly forbidden to leave the bike on the street, even locked.
In case of theft without theft insurance, the renter must reimburse the full value of the bike at new replacement cost.

Customers may return the bike to the agency at closing time and pick it up again the next morning.
Leaving a bike in a public space after 10:00 PM is considered a serious breach of contract.

7. Insurance and Liability

VOLTRIDE has professional liability insurance covering third-party damages.

The renter remains fully responsible for the rented equipment during the rental period, even if used by another person.

7.1 Client Responsibility

The renter is responsible for:

• Any material damage to the bike,

• Any loss, theft, or breakage,

• Any improper use (over-speed, manipulation of components, water damage, crash, etc.).

Electric bikes must be charged only with the provided charger and kept in safe, dry conditions.
Damage from improper charging, overheating, shocks, or humidity will be charged to the renter.

7.2 Non-return or disappearance

In case of non-return at the scheduled time, VOLTRIDE may:

• Charge the full deposit,

• Activate GPS tracking and inform local authorities,

• Charge one additional rental day per 24 hours of delay,

• and file a police report for theft.

8. Deposit and Return

The bike is inspected at pick-up and return.
The deposit will be released within 7 working days after technical inspection.

Any damage, missing accessory, or excessive dirt may result in partial or full deposit retention.
Bikes must be returned:

• Clean,

• Fully functional,

• and with battery charged (for e-bikes).

Any delay over 30 minutes may incur a one-day additional fee.

9. Assistance and Breakdown Service

Free assistance is provided for rentals of 7 days or more, within a 30 km radius from the departure agency.
Assistance is available between 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM only.

For shorter rentals, an optional assistance package may be added.
Without this option, the customer must return the bike to the agency by their own means.

In case of incident or breakdown, contact VOLTRIDE immediately via phone or WhatsApp (number on the contract).

10. Data Protection and GPS Usage

Personal data is collected for booking and contract management.
All information is processed in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
GPS data is used exclusively for safety, maintenance, and theft prevention purposes.
The customer may exercise their rights (access, rectification, deletion) by writing to info@voltride.es.

11. Applicable Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law.
Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent court of Alicante, unless an amicable solution is reached beforehand.
